The 15 Minute Induction – Up & Running Pronto

The 15 Minute Induction – Up & Running Pronto

The (first) 15 Minute Induction.

There is the distinct danger we over egg and complicate someone’s first day with tortuous induction routines. Everything from the company structure to where the back up tea bags are kept.

As the boss, you need to get in there real quick and set the expectations, give clarity and promote your approachability. Anyway, it can and should be done in fifteen minutes if you communicated the goals well at final job interview.

15 Minutes of power, grace and humility by securing buy in to the following questions:

This is what you can expect of me… (and reciprocate)…

This is what I need from you – demeanour and attitude…

These are the promises we need you to keep regarding what we want you to deliver…

What do you want me to do if you are not living up to those promises?

This is how we will measure your success…

Can you get behind all of that?

Now lets go to work!  (No, don’t say that – but do revisit the above in 1,2 and 4 weeks time)
