However much we are committed to being self reliant, self starting, resilient, self generating and personally accountable for as much of our life direction as possible, we are still intensely vulnerable creatures, wholly at the mercy of the kindness of others for our ultimate happiness and success.
We all need ‘somebody to lean on’ as the words of the song goes.
Beyond the beautiful notion of human kindness, there is a tactical gain to be had by creating a climate of ‘its OK to be vulnerable around here’.

Teams that are a safe place to plead ignorance, to ask for forgiveness, to declare errors, to ask for help, where crazy ideas are not laughed at, but considered, just happen to be very productive and enjoyable to work in.
Those things are definitely indicators of a mature, healthy team.
