The Strongest Teams Are Packed With Humans.

A key fact about human beings: we forget important things.

At the humblest level,  we have a tendency to overlook and forget the fact that first and foremost, who we are is proportional to the roles we play. In order:

  1. We are human.

  2. We are someones child, a brother or sister, a mother or father.

  3. We are a job title.

People Trust People – Not Job Titles

No one is going to invest much trust in you because of your job title.

They will however trust you that little bit more when they get that you are ‘only human’. That’s going to happen when they see you demonstrating vulnerability, humility and openness.

When folks recognise that you are like them, or, WE remember that we are like the others; we have family trials and tribulations, we are fighting battles no one sees, we have our frailties and other bits of life to navigate, that they’ll warm to you and invest emotional capital.

It is essential that teams agree that vulnerability based trust is the key to cohesion and that each team member is responsible for showing up as a human first and job title after.

You have to go first in the trust investment…
